
Chimai Tran-Luu is an International Program Specialist in the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce Office of the General Counsel. Ms. Tran-Luu works on programs in the Middle East and Asia.
Prior to joining CLDP in November 2010, Ms. Tran-Luu served as Director of Business Development and Marketing for a Los Angeles-based restaurant group where she helped the company in its rebranding effort and in negotiating a partnership agreement with the fashion company, Bloomingdale’s. She also served as consultant to a Vietnamese entrepreneur to help broker a truck parts distribution agreement with International Trucks of the US.
Prior to this, Ms. Tran-Luu was Manager, Finance and Pricing Analysis for an international satellite company, Intelsat in Washington, D.C managing corporate financial planning and pricing activities. Before that, Ms. Tran-Luu was a Consultant for the Africa Development Practice at Booz Allen & Hamilton.
Ms. Tran-Luu was born in Vietnam, and raised in Africa and France. She earned her MBA in International Business with a focus on Finance from George Washington University. She received her bachelor degrees in Finance and in French Literature from University of Maryland. She is fluent in English, Vietnamese and French.
