Denise Hicks is a Management and Program Analyst in the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the Department of Commerce Office of the General Counsel. CLDP provides training and consultative services to countries in economic transition. This technical assistance supports legal and regulatory reforms that encourage market-driven trade and investment in those countries. Mrs. Hicks started with CLDP in 1999 as the office secretary. Mrs. Hick’s primary focus is the office budget.

Prior to joining CLDP, Mrs. Hicks worked for the Maritime Administration at the Department of Transportation as a Technical Assistant. She also has worked for the Office of the General Counsel as the General Counsel’s Secretary and the Federal Aviation Administration as a Personnel Staffing Clerk, a Secretary and a Property Clerk, all under the Department of Transportation.

Mrs. Hicks started her federal government career as a summer employee with the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. Mrs. Hicks has over 30 years of federal service.

Mrs. Hicks attended Chamberlain Vocational High School and Strayer University for a semester. Mrs. Hicks is a graduate from the USDA Graduate School with a certificate in Financial Management. Mrs. Hicks is very active in her church and along with her husband is the proud mother of five children.
