Lindsey Scannell is an Attorney and Program Manager in the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the Department of Commerce Office of the General Counsel.  Ms. Scannell manages CLDP programs in Southeast Asia which focus on legal reform and economic development issues. Her project areas include public procurement, intellectual property, customs, and trade facilitation.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Scannell served as a law clerk for CLDP, focusing on capacity building programs in North Africa and developing CLDP’s programming in Southeast Asia. Ms. Scannell also previously worked for the Women, Business and the Law program at the World Bank-IFC, where she focused on francophone Africa and for USTR’s South-East Asia Office.

Ms. Scannell received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, where she worked as a student attorney for the Harrison Institute for Public Policy focusing on issues of international trade. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mount Holyoke College with a bachelor’s degree in History. Ms. Scannell is admitted to practice law in New York State. She is fluent in French and speaks Japanese and Chinese at an intermediate level.
