Mohammed Loraoui is an International Program Specialist in the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce Office of the General Counsel. Mr. Loraoui works on programs in the Middle East.

Prior to joining CLDP, Mr. Loraoui worked at the National Democratic Institute, (NDI) where as a member of the Middle East and North Africa team, he helped manage programs in the Gulf, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

Prior to this, Mr. Loraoui served as the associate director of Dialogue Programs at the Project on Middle East Democracy where he coordinated planning for three conferences conducted in Egypt, Jordan and Morocco. As a consultant to the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), he worked on NED’ s Arabic website, al- Nafitha, as well as translated, analyzed and summarized grant proposals.

Mr. Loraoui received his bachelor’s degree with honors in International Affairs with a focus on the Middle East from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He spent time at the American University in Cairo studying Arabic and politics of the Middle East and North Africa.
