Sameh Attia

Sameh Attia is an International Program Specialist in the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the Department of Commerce Office of the General Counsel. Mr. Attia focuses primarily on programs in the Middle East.

Mr. Attia is a U.S. Veteran. Prior to joining CLDP, Mr. Attia served at the United States as an Arabic linguist and cultural awareness instructor in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Mr. Attia was awarded Army Achievement Medal and Army Commendation Medal from the Department of the Army on 2009. Prior to the Military, Mr. Attia worked at the U.S. embassy in Baghdad, Iraq as a media analyst under J9 Media Operation Center (J9 MOC).

Mr. Attia earned his master of arts in intelligence studies from the American Military University, and his bachelor of science from Cairo University in Egypt. He is fluent in more than 4 Arabic Dialects, and he taught basic Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) for units deploying to Iraq. He was born in Egypt and spent extended periods of his life in the Middle East.
