Sarah Pfeffer is an International Program Specialist in the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the Department of Commerce Office of the General Counsel. Ms. Pfeffer handles CLDP’s programs in the Middle East and South Asia, primarily Afghanistan, which focus on commercial law implementation, education, arbitration, investment promotion, and judicial training.
Prior to joining CLDP, Sarah worked for Alhambra-US Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit promoting commercial, educational and cultural interaction between the US and nations of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), primarily in the Arabian Peninsula. There, she served as International Communications Coordinator, and focused on higher education consulting on strategic direction for businesses seeking educational and professional development. Sarah worked on Chamber projects such as liaising between Alhambra and the University of Texas (UT) UTeach Liberal Arts program, organizing Alhambra-UT delegations for the International Exhibition & Conference on Higher Education, and developing a marketing campaign for the University Fast Track program in conjunction with the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission.
Sarah earned her BA in Arabic Language and Literature and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She participated in UT’s Intensive Summer Language Institute for both Persian and Arabic, and was a member of International Association of Students in Economics and Management. She has lived and traveled in the Persian Gulf. Sarah speaks Dari/Farsi and Arabic.
